Birthday Bash

Brentwood, California
This is Brooke, the cutest little girl ever. She just celebrated her 1st birthday with a big party. And her mom asked Polka Photos to take pictures of it all.

Brooke's mom threw one stylish party, complete with lots of balloons, including a capital B, a huge cupcake, and polka dots.

What would a birthday party be without cake?

There was music...

... and bubbles ...

... and a pony.

Even Piglet the dog was having fun!

Bye bye Brooke! Happy Birthday!!!

Star Birthday Party

Manhattan Beach, California
I had an awesome time photographing Ericia'a prom-themed birthday party at Hennessey's Tavern. There was lots of dancing and drinking, the staples of many proms. And even a prom king and queen.

Ericia pins a boutonniere on her husband.

Ericia and her sister-in-law did an awesome job with all the decorations. They even set up a glittery tinsel backdrop with star accents for formal prom photos. You may recognize Cicely and Robert, whose wedding I photographed last December and who introduced me to Ericia.

All the girls...

Someone's really excited about the jello shots.

Cheers!

Time to boogie!

The Prom King & Queen share a dance.

Mr. Bond I presume.

That's shaken, not stirred.

Time to say goodnight.

Thank you Ericia for a great time, you are the best hostess. Wishing you many more great birthdays! And many thanks to Cicely & Robert for the referral.

Happy Birthday Sis!!!

Los Angeles, California
Today is my sister Alicja's birthday. I'm sad I can't join her in Chicago for the celebration. Last year, Alicja came to visit us here in LA for her birthday.

I tend to buy presents centered around a theme. One year I got my sis an Alias book, some spy gear and a CIA badge. Last year was Alice in Wonderland. In keeping with this theme, we had a tea party with yummy cherry tarts from La Brea Bakery. Thankfully the Mad Hatter declined his invitation.

Then we went bowling at Midtown Lanes. It was my first time in over a decade - and my sister's, too. Michael had the best form but also a lot of gutter balls.

Here's Alicja.

I love this sign.
